Lake Placid Ambulance

The Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service is a private, non for-profit Emergency Medical Service established in 1976 to provide emergency medical services to the community of Lake Placid.

About us

Our current operating area includes the Town of North Elba and the Village of Lake Placid. In addition, we provide Advanced Life Support when requested to Wilmington, Keene and the Ausable Forks area.

Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service's roster is made up of 9 Paramedics, 9 Advanced EMTs, and 13 EMTs. In addition to 24/7 coverage to the town, we provide coverage to many Lake Placid sporting events. With around 1200 calls a year, we are one of the busiest agencies in the county.

Looking to join our team?

There are many ways to get involved that don’t involve responding to calls, as well as providing patient care in the EMS environment.

We are always looking for volunteers to join us. Click below to apply for clinical or non-clinical volunteer opportunities!
